Interstate 295 is composed of the Clearview Expressway and part of the Cross-Bronx Expressway, crossing the East River over the Throgs Neck Bridge. It was planned as part of I-78 and the Clearview would have extended to JFK Airport. When I-78 was cancelled the road was numbered I-295, and the extension of the Clearview was cancelled as well. Contrary to the name, there is no Clearview on the Clearview Expressway.
