NY 365 connects Oneida to Rome and continues further east through Holland Patent, Barneveld, and Prospect. It is a divided highway from the Thruway to Rome, acting as a continuation of the Utica-Rome Expressway. The section just west of NY 49 was upgraded to remove the traffic light at James Street by building a series of U turn ramps, functionally extending the freeway.
