US 219 is the main corridor from Buffalo south to Salamanca and towards Pennsylvania. The route is a freeway, known as the Southern Expressway, from Buffalo to a stub with Peters Road south of Springville. Although the route is planned to be upgraded all the way south to I-86 near Salamanca, work is currently postponed infefinately. The local municipalities continue to push for renewed construction on the freeway, starting with the interchange with I-86.
